Monday Morning

Welcome Monday.
Welcome New Week.
Welcome New Day.
Fresh Start,
Possibilities,
And new summer, in June.

Thank you rain
And thank you God for the rain
And thank you flowers for growing
And thank you God for the flowers that grow after the rain.

I'm sorry on this day when I'm glad,
that someone isn't.
I pray for their heart and their trial and whatever it is.
I pray for them to have God's hands and arms, holding.
I wish I could help.  If I can I will.

I'm grateful for Kate.
And for Sarah.
And for Ann.
And for Laura Beth.
Thank you, God, for giving them to  Charlie and me.
I'm so glad they love You.
I'm so glad Scott and Steve love You and that they are faithful to my two daughters.
I pray for whomever will love Sarah and Kate, that they will be cared for, today, by You.

I'm grateful for Ellie and Luke
and Ada and Andrew
and John.  I pray that they will love You.
I pray for all the others, that they will love You.

And in the Front Yard on Saturday...

While we were enjoying the sprinklers and old tubs in the back yard on Saturday(see previous post) - Charlie was pulling up crowded Day Lilies, unwanted Bermuda Grass, and Weeds, in our front bed.  And Luke sat nearby him, it would appear that he's contemplating something.  You'll see what the Hydrangeas do in the afternoon heat.  But bounce back by morning - or with water.

And so ends the weekend - and Sunday brings a time to worship together - and sing hymns - and usually spend a quiet afternoon and evening - after a Sunday meal - taking it easy - usually.

And Now...a Summer Afternoon...June and Hot!

I don't have a pool.  I have sprinklers and old tubs.  It's Saturday.  Steve is working on "tomorrow".  Ann apologetically comes to my house.  She needn't apologize.  I'd do it too, if my mom were in town and I had 3 children who needed to get away from the television, plus the mom needing some adult communication - because don't forget, Kate is here also.  It's a very hot day and the kids need activity plus not much sun due to tender skin.  My hydrangeas need water, even though they've gotten plenty of rain.  They wilt on any given day without rain.  So here is what our Saturday afternoon looked like, and Andrew, who LOVES the bathtub, doesn't trust water outside.  He had to get used to it....and with Near by his side....Near is Elizabeth, me, myself, I.

And then they went home.  Kate is joining them for dinner.  Charlie and I have been asked out for dinner...yay!.....and that is our Saturday.

Early Evening in June

Favorite Things and What I Like to Remember?  Early evenings outside in the summer, after dinner - still time to play but not so hard - just easy - I love the outside in June - even if it is hot, but it's not so much at dusk - even if the bugs do nibble at my ankles. They love me, the bugs.   After a simple dinner of baked chicken, black eyed peas, cooked potatoes and broccoli - we all went outside - just to go outside.  Ellie, Luke, and Ann had been swimming with a friend from 12:00 to about 3:00.  Makes for tired kiddos and mom.  We're all glad Steve will return, although late, late, in the evening from a week in Arizona speaking at a camp.  Luke is excited about the "Guh-prise" (surprise) which Steve will bring him.  He's also excited to see his dad.  He hates for him to be gone.  I hate for my dad to be gone too.  I miss him.

I love June.
